In September, 20,400 Classes 5-7 net vehicle orders were booked, according to preliminary figures by ACT. Final August numbers will be published in mid-September.
Preliminary numbers for Class 8 were released earlier this month at 13,900 units.
“Because of its limited exposure to the freight economy, the Classes 5-7 market continues to distinguish itself from the Class 8 market,” said Steve Tam, ACT’s Vice President.
“Rising 2% year-to-date, medium-duty net orders exemplified the solid, sustainable growth that has been typical of the consumer during this economic cycle.”
