Wolf Robotics has purchased the assets of ABB's Welding Systems Division in Fort Collins CO. The new company is part of the Rimrock group, currently ABB's largest strategic partner for robotic automation.
The welding and cutting business has operated in Fort Collins for nearly 60 years as Heath Engineering, ESAB Automation, and for the past 11 years, as ABB. Dave Prosser, who has worked in the business for the past 30 years, will stay on as vice-president and general manager. Also, approximately 25 people from the former ABB division have joined Wolf Robotics.
Wolf will offer a full range of products to the non-automotive, general industry segment, from simple FlexArc cells to sophisticated custom engineered systems. In addition to engineering and manufacturing, Wolf will offer other services including production consulting, technical service during and after the warranty period, parts, training, preventive maintenance, and programming.
