Wabash National Corp has formed a new single source of supply partnership with J B Hunt Transport Services of Lowell AR. The initial order under the agreement is for several thousand of Wabash's proprietary DuraPlate trailers. Delivery of this order is scheduled to take place through the end of 2001.
"This agreement is timely in that it comes in the midst of our separation of our truck business from the intermodal business, allowing us to achieve virtually a complete conversion to new 53-foot DuraPlate trailers," says Kirk Thompson, president and chief executive officer of J B Hunt. By this time next year, the J B Hunt truck fleet is expected to be about 95% outfitted with DuraPlate trailers.
