Valspar opened its new powder coatings production facility next to its liquid coatings plant in Jiading, China, recently. About 35 miles north of Shanghai, this new plant will have a total of 51,000 square feet of space. Capacity of the plant will be 10 million pounds with future expansion for another 10 million pounds. The building's front includes 12,400 square feet housing a general industrial research center for liquid, e-coat, and powder coatings development, as well as an analytical laboratory.

This expansion will allow Valspar customers in China to benefit from faster product delivery and enhanced services. It follows the recent acquisition of the powder coatings business of H B Fuller Co and significant majority of the share capital of Huarun Paints Holdings Co Ltd.
