Trudell Trailers has acquired Fargo Trailer Center of Fargo, N.D. The acquisition enables Trudell to expand its current Fargo sales and rental operation to full-service status.

Fargo Trailer has 23 employees and specializes in parts and service for semi-trailers. The company was founded in 1976, has complete shop facilities, and provides repair and custom fabrication on all makes of semi-trailers. Its primary service area has included North Dakota and South Dakota, as well as portions of Minnesota.

“Expanding our operation to a full-service Great Dane distributorship has been our goal from the day we opened the sales and rental facility in Fargo in 2002,” said Dennis Van Lannen, executive vice president of Trudell. “We were looking for a company that had a strong customer following, a business philosophy that matched ours, and was well respected in the community and marketplace. The opportunity to add Fargo Trailer¹s capabilities to ours has truly created a win-win situation for both companies, as well as our combined customer bases.”

Trudell will move its Fargo sales and rental operation to the 22,000-sq.-ft. Fargo Trailer site (1909 Main Avenue East, West Fargo) in approximately 60 days. It is expected that all 23 employees with Fargo Trailer will be retained. The official name of the new operation will be Trudell Trailers of Fargo.

Fargo Trailer Center is the second acquisition this year for Trudell. In March the company announced it had acquired Quality Truck Equipment, Green Bay, which specializes in collision repair, truck parts and accessories, industrial finishing, boat repair and aluminum repair.

Trudell is moving all QTE operations to its Green Bay facility, 2049 Creamery Road, De Pere. To accommodate the additional services, employees and customers, Trudell will build a 12,000-sq.-ft. addition to house an additional shop and paint booth. It will also remodel the current parts and service areas. The new construction and remodeling work is tentatively scheduled for a June/July completion timeframe.
