Trudell Trailers has acquired Quality Truck Equipment of Green Bay WI, which specializes in collision repair, truck parts and accessories, industrial finishing, boat repair, and aluminum repair. Trudell, a semi-trailer dealership based in Green Bay, serves the Midwest.
“The acquisition of Quality Truck Equipment meets one of our key strategic goals, which is to diversify our operations,” said Dennis Van Lannen, executive vice-president of Trudell. “This purchase will enable us to move into truck repairs and truck parts to a greater degree. It will also provide a mechanism for us to be in the painting business, which is an area we've been looking to expand into for several years.”
QTE was started 23 years ago by Tom and Dick Pierquet. They, along with seven of QTE's employees, will remain with the firm after the acquisition. Trudell will move all QTE operations to its Green Bay facility, 2049 Creamery Road, De Pere.
Trudell will build a 12,000-square-foot addition to house another shop and paint booth. It will also remodel the current parts and service areas. The new construction and remodeling work is tentatively scheduled for a June/July completion.
