Survey on wages in metal fabricating sector

The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International (FMA) and its technical affiliate, the Tube & Pipe Association International (TPA), have issued the 2003 Metal Forming and Fabricating Industry Wage & Benefits Survey.

This biannual report provides data on more than 80 job shop titles in all technology sectors of the metal forming and fabricating industry. As a tool to help manufacturers attract and retain skilled employees, companies can compare their pay rates and compensation policies with those of other employers by region, company size, and company sales volume.

Responses from 326 companies nationwide reported hourly rates for 18,329 employees. Participating companies also disclosed details on 40 benefits.

For a sample of FMA's Wage & Benefits results, phone FMA customer service at 815-399-8775. Results are available to nonmembers for $400; FMA and TPA members may purchase the results for $200. Visit and click on FMA Store to purchase online.
