Danish dairy products group Arla Foods has ordered 193 trucks from Scania, including both tractor units and distribution trucks for its operations in Sweden, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. The trucks will be used both for distribution services in urban environments and for long-haul transport between the group's depots. Deliveries from Scania will begin during 2008 and will be completed early in 2009.

The order is one of the largest Scania has received from Scandinavian-based customers. It also includes repair and maintenance contracts for all of the trucks.

Trucks delivered to Arla Foods will be equipped with Scania's 9- or 12-liter engines, which employ Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) technology to meet Euro 4 emissions requirements without exhaust aftertreatment.
