Ridewell Suspensions, based in Springfield MO, has formed a strategic partnership with Europe's Weweler Nederland, a division of VDL.

This partnership is offering an electronically controlled, forced-steer auxiliary axle suspension system that features:

  • Hydraulic steering with electronic control.

  • Programmable electronic control unit that senses vehicle speed and front axle steer angle to precisely control steer angle of auxiliary.

  • Electronic control unit to ensure a centered hydraulic/mechanical lock at higher vehicle speed.

  • Custom-formed axle beam to provide optimal clearance.

  • Compatibility with steel and air suspended drive axles.

  • Truck and trailer applications.

  • Pusher and tag configurations.

  • Axle load capacities up to 20,000 pounds.

The system is also available with these options:

  • Integrated axle lifting systems.
  • Custom track axles.
  • Disc and drum brakes — 17½", 19½" and 22½".
  • Single- and dual-wheel configurations.
  • Custom drops up to 12.4" in formed axle beams.
