Volvo Trucks announced that effective October 1, 2012, Göran Nyberg is the new president of North American Sales & Marketing, based in Greensboro NC. Serving with the Volvo Group since 2003, he was most recently managing director for Volvo Group UK Limited, the Volvo Trucks sales and marketing division in the United Kingdom. Nyberg succeeds Ron Huibers, who was recently appointed president of Volvo Penta Americas.
Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company has appointed Larry Roland as its new director of marketing. He began his career as sales coordinator at Utility's national accounts department in 1987 and most recently was director of national accounts.
Great Dane has named Jon Jeffries vice-president and general sales. With more than 25 years in the trailer industry, he returns to the firm after 14-plus years in sales and marketing with Hendrickson Trailer Commercial Vehicle Systems. Great Dane is also realigning its branch system to better serve the aftermarket. In the new alignment, Dave Gilliland will continue as vice-president, branch sales, while Dave Durand has been promoted to vice-president, aftermarket. In his new role, Durand will continue to oversee the Great Dane Aftermarket Parts Division.
Gerald “Jerry” Rothwell has joined Talbert Manufacturing Inc as the new director of business development. He most recently served as director of dealer sales for Fontaine Trailer Company. Connie Chapman has rejoined Talbert as the new aftermarket parts and warranty coordinator after an eight-year hiatus. From 1994 to 2004, she was with the Talbert purchasing department. Prior to rejoining Talbert, she worked for both Schilli Transportation and Remington Freight Lines.
Rob Porter has joined Hercules Manufacturing as Northeast regional sales manager. For the past 1½ years, Porter has been an independent salesperson marketing Hercules truck bodies in the Northeast.
William H “Bill” Garrison, the long-time vice-president of sales and marketing for Clement Industries, has retired for the second and final time. He joined Clement as sales manager in 1983, and his first retirement was in mid-2008. Facing the recession that gripped the US economy, Clement persuaded Garrison to return to the company in 2009.
Don Daniels has joined Iowa Mold Tooling Company Inc (IMT), an Oshkosh Corporation company, as director of sales. With more than 30 years of experience in sales management and competitive sales strategy implementation, he most recently was director of sales for Alternative Design Manufacturing and Supply.

R•O•M Corporation has named Larry Bertrand as product manager of the company's Prime Design Ladder Rack line. He joined the firm as a part of its September 2011 acquisition of Bustin Industrial Products, where he served as the Midwest sales manager for all its product groups.
Obituaries
Donald E Engstrom, former president and chief executive officer of Mutual Wheel Company, died September 14, 2012, at his Moline IL home. He was 93. Born in Moline August 6, 1919, to Elmer and Helen (Anderson) Engstrom, he married Henrietta June Freitag, who survives. He was a graduate of Augustana College, St Louis University (Parks Air College School of Aviation), and did graduate work at Denver University. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. In 1949, he returned to Moline to join Mutual Wheel with his father in the sales department. In 1952, he was named president and CEO, retiring in 1990. He was president of the Heavy Duty Division of the Automotive Service Industry Association and served on its board of directors. He was a member of advisory councils for Bendix Corporation, Rockwell International, and Dayton Steel Foundries. His other survivors include three sons: David Engstrom of East Moline, Richard Engstrom of Moline, and Robert Engstrom of Hampton IL; six grandchildren: Monica VanVooren, Daniel, Maude, Emma, Lani, and Britta Engstrom; a great-grandson, Robert Engstrom; and three step-grandchildren: Logan and Haley Eckhardt, and Brittani Woods.
