L Norman Ross Jr, former member of the National Truck Equipment Association board of directors, died Feb 7, 2007. He was 85. Ross was born Oct 20, 1921, in Washington DC to L N Ross Sr and Genie Ross. In 1933, the elder Ross founded in Oregon what would be NW Truckstell Sales Inc. During World War II, Ross served in the Pacific, achieving the rank of first lieutenant and earning the Bronze Star. He returned to Portland OR and in June 1945 married Elizabeth “Betty” Rupp. Ross was preceded in death by his wife Betty and son Ken. He is survived by his son Dave, daughter-in-law Debbie, grandsons David and John, and sister Dorothy Brown. The family requests that remembrances be made to the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, 1410 SW Morrison, Suite 760, Portland OR 97205.
