Olof “Ole” Hallstrom, innovator of the live floor conveyor and past owner of Hallco Mfg Co, died May 27, 2009. He was 79. Born in 1929, he grew up in Tillamook County, Oregon, on the family dairy farm and studied engineering at Oregon State University. He invented and manufactured small equipment for the dairy industry, expanded into agricultural material handling, and received several patents, including one for the live floor conveyor. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary; his children, Vickie, Steve, Cindi, Dan, and Penni; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial funds have been established in his name for the YMCA in Tillamook OR in care of Waud's Funeral Home, 1414 3rd St, Tillamook OR 97141.
