The British Standards Institution (BSI) has asked the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) for help in finding tanker industry experts, according to CV Transport News Brief.

BSI is a member of The Comité Européen de Normalisation (CEN), or European standards committee. CEN plans to revise EN13094, the standard that governs the manufacture of petrol tankers.

“We’re helping set up a panel of experts from the industry,” said a senior technical manager at the SMMT. “This is an important opportunity to help frame these standards and we’re keen to see that our members and the industry are properly represented.”
