International Truck and Engine Corp. announced a range of new options and upgrades to its vocational product line at the annual ConExpo-Con/Agg show in Las Vegas to better meet the needs of the construction market, said Bill Sixsmith, director of severe service marketing.

First, International is adding a sleeper cab option to its 5900i so drivers can have extra cab room for rest periods during those long days at the job site. The sleeper cab option offers 58 inches of floor-to-ceiling height, 70 inches of shoulder room and 18 inches of belly room, along with a large wraparound windshield and an optional larger rear window for increased job site visibility.

Caterpillar Acert engines are also now being made available for International’s 5000 Series trucks this year. The company is expanding its integrated dump program so customers can use International dealers as a “one stop shop” to save time and money. New partners include Rogers Manufacturing Co., Inc.; Crysteel Manufacturing, Inc.; Warren, Inc.; and GinCor Industries, Inc., adding to the OEM’s original partner J&J Truck Bodies.

“Because of the national network of integrated body partners, we can exceed customer expectations. Customers also have one warranty location for the truck, body and related equipment,” said Sixsmith.
