Great Dane Trailers today announced the resignation of Chris Adkins, senior vice president of sales and marketing. His departure is based on a personal decision to pursue a career outside the trailer industry.

“Chris has made considerable contributions to Great Dane in nearly 30 years of service with the company,” said Phill Pines, chief operating officer, Great Dane Trailers. “Great Dane’s sales efforts have been outstanding with his dedication and leadership over the past several years, but we recognize and support Chris’s desire to pursue ambitions outside the industry.”

Adkins began his career at Great Dane Trailers in 1978 as a used trailer sales representative in Richmond, Va. During his tenure, he achieved personal and professional sales goals and was honored by the company for outstanding sales for ten consecutive years. His success led him to the role of vice president of used trailer operations in 1998 and then was appointed senior vice president of sales and marketing in 2003.

Management of Great Dane’s sales and marketing functions will continue to be led by the current team as administered by Jim Pines, executive vice president; Tracey Maynor, vice president, branch sales and operations; Chris Hammond, vice president, dealer sales; Brandie Fuller, director, advertising and industry relations; Keith Monroe, director, platform trailer sales; and Robert O’Boyle, director, used trailer division.
