FMCSA to create safety advisory committee

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) today announced the establishment of the Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee to advise the Administrator on the creation and implementation of safety regulations and programs

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) today announced the establishment of the Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee to advise the Administrator on the creation and implementation of safety regulations and programs

The notice also solicits nominations for interested persons in the motor carrier industry as well as for safety advocates and safety enforcement officials to serve on the committee. The committee will include up to 20 members who will not be federal employees.

The formation of the committee will fulfill a mandate of SAFETEA-LU.

Nominations must be received by January 4, 2007.
