Los Altos, CA-based Baytech has received 2005 and 2006 EPA and California Air Resources Board (CARB) certifications for its propane and compressed natural gas (CNG) fueled General Motors (GM) 8.1 L engines. These are also available in bi-fuel configurations, which use either propane or CNG along with gasoline.
The engines are certified for use in GM Topkick/Kodiak C Series and Workhorse heavy-duty vehicles with GVWRs from 16,000 to 37,600 lbs. The engines are also certified for the GM Silverado/Sierra 2500HD/3500 pickup trucks and Chassis Cab.
