Diesel price drops 1.6 cents

The national average price for a gallon of diesel dropped 1.6 cents to $2.565 for the week ending March 26, the Energy Information Administration said.

All regions saw a decline in diesel, but it was the Gulf Coast that saw the biggest drop, down 2.4 cents to $2.528. The Midwest region edged that region by a thin margin for being the cheapest in which to fill up at $2.523 after shedding a penny. Prices were the most stable in New England, where prices only dropped 0.2 cents to $2.70. California again saw the most expensive diesel at $2.727 after falling 1.1 cents.
