The national average price for a gallon of diesel fell 3 cents last week to $1.957, according to the Energy Information Bureau.

All regions posted a reduction, except for the Central Atlantic, which posted a 0.2-cent hike to $2.163. The Gulf Coast posted the largest drop at 4.1 cents to $1.887, and is also the cheapest region in which to fill up. New England averaged the most expensive diesel, at $2.18.
