Construction trailer manufacturer Clement Industries held its annual national distributors' meeting at its headquarters in Minden LA recently. Representatives from United States distributorships nationwide, a distributor from Mexico, and Clement suppliers participated in social events, business sessions, and a sales award banquet.

At the opening business session, W Glen Hicks, who has been Clement president for 25 years, announced that he was stepping down as president and chief operating officer of the company. Elected by the board of directors to succeed to the presidency is Gregory Hicks, who has been Clement's general manager.

Glen Hicks plans to serve as a member of Clement's engineering staff, working on product design. Other executive appointments announced were Robert Myers as chief engineer and Russell Snider as comptroller.

Named Distributor of the Year was Clement of Houston, with its principals Mitch and Kelly Raymond accepting the award.

Others receiving sales awards were: Ron Dietz of Transwest Trailers, Commerce City CO; Alvin and Debbie Porter of Performance Trailers of Austin TX; Jerry and Mary Sharrock of Clement Dallas (TX); Bob and Karen DeYoung of Clement of Northern Illinois, Lemont IL; Percy Thornton of Utility Trailer Sales of Mississippi, Jackson MS; and Chris Geis of Utility Trailers Sales of Kansas City (KS). Eight Clement distributors were awarded all-expense-paid trips for two to Acapulco, Mexico, for exceeding established sales goals.
