Jim White, former vice president of manufacturing for E-One, has opened doors on a new fire apparatus maker with facilities in Ocala, Fla. White, who retired from E-One with more than 20 years of service, is the new president of Classic Fire LLC. Also on board as vice president is his son Dan White, who founded Frontline Fire, a brush truck builder; Jim Weigle as vice president of sales (also formerly of E-One), and Brad Ewers and Randy Coates in the marketing department. The company moved into a 10,000-square-foot assembly and office building and 5,500-square-foot delivery and service building in October.Classic Fire will be building fire apparatus from slide-in skid units through commercial mid-mount, top-mount and rear-mount pumpers. According to company sources, it plans to display rigs at Fire-Rescue East Jan. 21-25 in Jacksonville, Fla., and at the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference in Indianapolis in April.
