Sales volumes slowed for most medium- and heavy-duty truck categories in China during the third quarter, leaving China with a projected decline of 7% in 2011 compared to 2010, according to China Commercial Vehicle Outlook, jointly published quarterly by ACT and SIC, China’s State Information Center.

It includes an overview of the China economy and a review and forecast of China’s heavy- and medium-duty truck and bus markets, as well as analysis of OEM market shares within China.

“The pace of economic growth slowed during the third quarter, primarily due to a falloff in the rate of growth for both investments and domestic consumption,” said Frank Maly, director of CV transportation analysis & research at ACT. “However, inflation is has begun to moderate, and foreign trade grew at a better than expected pace.”
