Carlisle gains China brake venture

Carlisle Motion Control Industries, a subsidiary of Carlisle Companies, has acquired all of the heavy-duty brake lining and brake shoe assets of Hangzhou, China-based Zhejiang Kete.

This acquisition will enable Carlisle to increase its friction block capacity by more than 40% and add new OE-quality brake shoes to its product offering, the company said.

This move enables Carlisle to more economically service markets in China, Malaysia and Australia, as well as supplementing the company's domestic friction capacity to better serve the North American market. The company noted the Carlisle Hangzhou facility's quality systems meet the requirements of the QS9000 standard.
