J.W. Speaker Corporation has formed a new business arrangement with Fort Garry Industries, Ltd. (FGI) to establish FGI as its distribution partner for the heavy-duty aftermarket in Canada.

Founded in 1919, FGI has evolved from a modest tire repair shop to its present position as a leading supplier of truck and trailer parts and equipment to the transportation industry, particularly in Western Canada.

FGI is headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Parts warehousing, sales and service work are performed at this location as well as 10 other centers including Mississauga, Thunder Bay, Brandon, Regina, Saskatoon, Lloydminster, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Grande Prairie. The company employs over 500 people and is affiliated with other heavy-duty distributors in Canada, such as CBS Parts and Pinwood Truck Parts, providing a broad reach throughout the country.

FGI will continue to focus on the heavy-duty aftermarket for JWS, covering ongoing service and replacement part needs, as well as fleets, municipalities and small OEMs who could be assigned to them. JWS' LED lighting line shall be reinforced as the premium offering in FGI's "good-better-best", go-to-market strategy.

Additionally, FGI is a leading member of the heavy-duty buying group, Vipar, and it is J.W. Speaker's intention to expand its business with Vipar members, particularly in the U.S., where there is a significant opportunity to retrofit older trucks with premium LED lighting solutions.

Tim Speaker, co-president of J.W. Speaker Corporation, explains: "Our partnership with Fort Garry Industries has been elevated, wherein they can focus more aggressively on not only the heavy-duty aftermarket in Canada, but also adjacent markets that could use our latest products. We're excited about the prospects of jointly growing our business with and, to that end, we're focused on providing even support for them in 2016."
