SnowEx SuperMaxx II spreaders designed to offer superior pre-wetting integration

Sept. 1, 2013

SnowEx has released its new SuperMaxx II spreaders for ice management. Available with 3.3-, 4.3-, and 6.0-cubic-yard capacities, the units are engineered for superior pre-wetting integration and optimal weight distribution.

SuperMaxx II spreaders feature an enhanced material feed system with a new stainless steel trough, where brine and salt are mixed before being delivered to the spinner.

The spreaders also feature cab-forward hoppers with up to 33% better payload distribution. Hoppers are made from lightweight, corrosion-resistant polyethylene and include a multi-angle design to promote a continuous flow of material to the auger feed system. An inverted “V” baffle and attached vibrator reduce clumping and allow the units to spread all bulk materials, including 100% salt, 100% sand, and any combination in between.

With a variable spread width up to 40 feet, the SuperMaxx’s 12-inch stainless-steel spinner contains adjustable cups for maximum control over the spread pattern.

Also included is a pendant-style controller with a digital readout and dials for independently adjusting the variable-speed spinner and auger. It comes with blast and pulse features, as well as auto-reverse and overload protection. If the truck is equipped with a SnowEx pre-wetting system, the controller can toggle it on and off, automatically adjusting the flow of brine according to the spreader’s material feed rate.

SuperMaxx II spreaders are electric-powered with a 12-volt, ¾-horsepower auger motor and 1.6-horsepower spinner motor. Motor and transmission are sealed within a weather-resistant enclosure. The control panel is also protected in a weather-resistant enclosure with a clear inspection cover.

Other standard features include a fitted tarp, top screen, LED safety strobe lights, non-combustible wiring, and vertically oriented ratchet straps.
