The Service Opportunities and Learning Day program (SOLD ’15)—which was developed to provide information to operate a successful business—is set for Jan. 25-26 and has a theme of "Are You a Happy Service Shop Owner or Manager?"

Are you happy with your shop attitude? Quality of productivity? Shop efficiency? Quality of work output? Is your shop profitability where it should be?  Do your technicians, service writers, shop managers, parts providers, salespeople and office personnel come to work happy because they are part of a TEAM?

It will be held at The Mirage Resort and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, prior to HDAW ’15.

The program:

Sunday: Robert (Bob) Greenwood will conduct a four hour Heavy Duty Business Management Session Focusing on “Elevating Service Excellence” and “How Productivity Mathematics Measure Service Results.”

Greenwood is a recognized International expert in shop management and efficiency. He has been awarded the Northwood University Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award. His regular program takes in excess of three days. He will give all of us some ideas in this four-hour presentation that we can take home to improve our service shop operations and put a smile on our faces.

Monday: Leo Thomason, co-founder and executive director of NGVI (Natural Gas Vehicle Institute.) Leo will inform us of what we need to know so we can find-out what we don’t know regarding vehicles in our shop equipped with CNG or LNG fuel systems. This normally a two- to three-day program.

A nine-member panel with the top suspension manufacturers, the top aftermarket providers discussing “Genuine Parts vs. Aftermarket Parts.” The participants are all senior management of their companies.

Tony Molla, Vice President of Communications for ASE. SOLD ‘15 will conduct a survey involving technicians on the tool or piece of equipment they purchased in the past 12 months that has had the greatest impact on their job performance.
