Navistar International Corporation promoted Michael A Cancelliere to president, Truck and Parts, effective July 1, 2017, replacing William R Kozek, who will assume a planning role focused on emerging industry opportunities. Navistar also announced that Bernardo Valenzuela is returning to the company in the newly created role of vice-president of Export, and president of Mexico and Global Operations. Cancelliere most recently served as senior vice-president, Global Parts and Customer Service. Valenzuela previously spent 16 years at Navistar, leaving in 2014 to found Terranova GTS LLC, a developer and distributor of specialty commercial vehicles.

Universal Trailer Corporation (UTC) announced that its board of directors has named Gary DiCamillo chief executive officer of the company. He succeeds Terry Carlson, who has served as CEO since 2011 and has accepted a similar position with a consumer products company based in the northeastern United States. DiCamillo, managing partner of Eaglepoint Advisors, was engaged in 2010 to assist UTC in its operational and financial turnaround. He joined its board of directors in 2011 after that assignment. UTC has added Cliff Stewart to the company’s Cargo Group as plant manager of the County Road 4 facility in Bristol IN. Most recently, he worked for Benteler Automotive, where he served as continuous improvement manager, North American operations improvement manager and operations manager.

Spartan Motors Inc announced that James A Sharman has been elected by its board to serve as chairman of the board, effective immediately. He will succeed Hugh Sloan, who is retiring from this position he has filled since 2010. Sharman joined the Spartan board in February 2016 as an independent director. He currently serves as chief operating officer of Coyote Logistics LLC.


COMPONENT MANUFACTURERS

Phillips Industries recently launched Phillips Connect Technologies (PCT), and William “Bill” Ellis has been hired as the managing director for PCT. Ellis was most recently a partner at Keystone Transportation Solutions LLC, a transportation service provider to international commodity traders at the Inland Port of Virginia.

Benjamin Rosenblum

announced that Benjamin Rosenblum has been named managing director of sales, Firestone Europe & Asia. He will relocate to Firestone’s Arnhem, Netherlands location to assume the role effective August, 1, 2017. Rosenblum joins Firestone from Bandag, where he served as director of marketing.

Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc has promoted Steven B Hedlund to executive vice-president and president of the International Welding segment. He will continue to serve as a management committee member, and he succeeds Mathias Hallmann, who has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests. Hedlund most recently served as senior vice-president and president of global automation.

Rick Rickman has announced his retirement from Ridewell Suspensions, effective September 30, 2017. Currently serving as vice-president of sales in charge of all sales functions, he has been with the company for more than 13 years.

Maxon Lift Corporation has expanded its subsidiary Maxon Canada and added to its sales force. Peter Collins has been promoted to vice-president at Maxon Canada. A 25-year veteran of the Canadian transportation industry, he most recently was a Maxon sales manager. Adam Michalski has been promoted to distributor and logistical support manager at Maxon Canada. A 25-year industry veteran, he has been with the firm for the past five years. Rick Warren joins as the national account manager at Maxon Canada. He has 20 years of experience in the Canadian transportation industry. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Charlie Yakub has been named Maxon Canada’s director of technical service and light-duty products.

Accuride Corporation has realigned its Sales & Marketing organization after the firm’s May 1, 2017 acquisition of KIC LLC. Accuride has promoted Chad Monroe to senior vice-president, Sales & Marketing and Business Development. Monroe served as vice-president, OEM Sales and Business Development for Accuride since 2014. Separately, Jayne Orr has been named director, Product Management, Wheels and will also have specific aftermarket and fleet account responsibilities. Orr previously was director, sales, Eastern Region.


DEALERS/DISTRIBUTORS

Northeast Great Dane (NEGD), a full-service Great Dane dealer, announced that long-time partner John Gendelman has been named president of the company. Tom Leuner, former president of NEGD, will serve as chief executive officer. Gendelman, who began his career with NEGD in 1977, most recently served as executive vice-president since 2015.


OBITUARIES

Joe Wilson

, who served as chairman and chief executive officer of Muncie Power Products from 1997 until his retirement in 2005, has died. He joined Muncie on August 27, 1962, working in the warehouse. In 1969, Wilson moved to Chicago and became manager of the Chicago division. He returned to Muncie in 1975 to become vice-president of sales, and in 1980, he became executive vice-president before being elected president and COO in 1982. Wilson would serve in this position until 1997, when he was elected chairman and CEO. Under his leadership, Muncie went through several major transitions including establishing a network of company-owned, distribution centers; purchasing the manufacturing facility in Tulsa OK, relocating corporate headquarters and staff in Muncie; and changing ownership as Muncie was purchased by Interpump Group in Italy.
