Western Pacific to produce tank trucks

Sacramento CA-based Western Pacific Products Inc will begin manufacturing tank trucks early in 2007.

Founded in 1985, the company distributes a variety of tank, truck, and trailer parts and also sells new and used pneumatic, petroleum, chemical, and vacuum tank trucks. The company operates parts warehouses in West Sacramento CA, Portland OR, Signal Hill (Los Angeles) CA, and Dallas/Fort Worth TX. The California and Texas locations sell new and used tanks from Stephens Pneumatic, Troxell Trailer Mfg, Youngs Tank Inc, Viking Guppie's, and now Amthor International.

Western Pacific will mount Amthor tanks on any type of chassis. The company will either purchase the desired chassis from a manufacturer, or the client can deliver it to Western Pacific. Tanks are shipped by Amthor International three at a time on a flatbed trailer.

Western Pacific goal is to keep a couple of stock chassis's available at all times and, at least initially, will stock a number of Amthor tanks. The company will be able to produce practically any kind of DOT configuration, but intends to carry a stock unit in inventory.

To aid this venture, the firm has hired Steve DeRenne. He has been in the tank industry since 1989 and worked on both remounts and “R” stamp petroleum tank repair.
