  • RP 38-02 — Method of Testing and Rating Heat Transmission of Controlled-Temperature Vehicles/Domestic Containers — Revised September 2002, originally issued July 1973. This establishes standard test methods for determining rates of heat transmission and air leakage of controlled-temperature vehicles and domestic containers which can readily be conducted within the facility of a manufacturer. Plus establishes heat transmission rating method of controlled-temperature vehicles and domestic containers. $75.

The TTMA Tank Conference Engineering Committee has released these revised Recommended Practices:

  • RP 21-02 — Tank Vehicles in Hot Products Service — Revised September 2002, originally issued May 1968. This is intended to serve as a guide for proper design and construction of non-pressure tank vehicles for transporting asphalts (bitumens) and other elevated temperature materials identified in 49 CFR 172.101 and described in 49 CFR 173.345.2. $38.

  • RP 24-02 — Classification of Weld Finishes for Stainless Steel Tank Vehicles — Revised September 2002, originally issued April 1969. This establishes a uniform classification of weld treatments for use in specification writing. $30.

  • RP 78-02 — Design of Circumferential Reinforcing Members on Carbon Steel Cargo Tanks Where Internal Thickness Testing is Precluded by Lining or Product Heel — Revised September 2002, originally issued April 1987. This is intended as a guide to design of circumferential reinforcements on cargo tanks fabricated of carbon steel where internal thickness testing is precluded by lining or product heel. $10.
