Tremcar acquires Hutchinson Industries

Sept. 1, 2006
Tremcar Technologies has acquired Hutchinson Industries Canada inc.

Tremcar Technologies has acquired Hutchinson Industries Canada inc. Toronto-based Hutchinson, founded in 1918 by W J Hutchinson Sr, specializes in tank truck manufacturing for the petroleum industry and other bi-products such as antifreeze. This acquisition will help Tremcar increase its production by 25% and will allow it to offer every type of tank trailer used in North America.

The 60,000-square-foot Hutchinson facility has 80 employees, and Tremcar intends to create at least 25 new positions in the next year. It has invested in new high-tech equipment and begun to reorganize production to improve productivity.

Tremcar is owned by Jacques Tremblay and his son, Daniel. Headquartered in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu on the south shore of Montreal, the company employs more than 150 people. This facility manufactures stainless steel tanker trailers mainly for the liquid food and chemical product industry. Tremcar delivered its 5,000th trailer in January 2006.
