The Transportation and Petroleum Industry Council will take a swing for a cure for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses Aug 18, 2004, at the group's eighth annual golf outing at Poplar Creek Country Club in Hoffman Estates IL. This year's outing celebrates the group's milestone of raising more than $1 million for City of Hope since its inception.
Proceeds from the outing will benefit groundbreaking research, treatment and education programs in cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses at City of Hope. The event will begin with a shotgun start at 8 am. Registration will run from 7 am to 7:45 am with a continental breakfast. At noon, golfers will gather for lunch and a program that includes a raffle and silent auction.
