Schneider Logistics expands into Czech Republic

Schneider Logistics announced the opening of a new office in Olomouc, Czech Republic, as it further develops its European business. The office is the new Shared Service Center for European logistics services.

Joining Schneider Logistics to lead the expansion in Olomouc is industry veteran Petr Prokš, who has opened numerous greenfield locations for global organizations. Prokš, who is the operations director at the Olomouc location, will head a team that will include operations, information technology and carrier contracting specialists.

Willem-Jan van Vorstenbos, managing director of Schneider Logistics in Europe, commented, “Olomouc, with its skilled and multilingual labor force, will position Schneider Logistics to accelerate growth of its European logistics services and better service its customers.” He added, “Given the growth of our business, we project the creation of a large number of local jobs over the next three years.”

A key service that Schneider Logistics will also offer through Olomouc is freight audit and payment. Schneider Logistics specializes in freight audit and payment to enable its customers to analyze freight costs and carrier performance across business lines, product groups and decentralized operations throughout different geographic regions.

Olomouc is in the eastern Czech region of Moravia, 280 kilometers from Prague and 80 kilometers northeast of Brno. First documented in 1055 and second only to Prague in national historical significance, Olomouc is an important regional center for culture and learning.
