A new program can help truck owner/operators and fleets finance purchases of ComfortPro auxiliary power units (APUs) from Carrier Transicold, a business unit of United Technologies Corp. Through Carrier's network of ComfortPro APU dealers, flexible terms are offered by Lease Corp of America (LCA) of Troy MI.

The ComfortPro APU is an anti-idling system that provides air-conditioning, heating, and household electrical current for a truck sleeper cab, as well as battery charging and truck engine warming. It offers the Deltek hybrid diesel-electric technology found in Carrier's Vector 1800MT trailer refrigeration units. The ComfortPro APU's energy source is a 4,000-watt generator driven by a diesel engine. A hermetically sealed electric compressor inside the cabin provides air-conditioning. The APU has a 1,000-hour service interval and a two-year, 4,000-hour warranty.
