A helping hand with ever-increasing college tuition is in sight for one student who applies for the 2007 National Trailer Dealers Association (NTDA) Scholarship Program.

For the fifth year, the Scholarship Program is underwritten by Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire LLC. This year the scholarship is worth $7,500. In 2006, Bridgestone/Firestone funded a $7,000 scholarship.

The NTDA Scholarship Program is based on academic capability, financial need, personal and school references, participation in school and community activities, and work experience. All NTDA member company employees and their children are eligible to apply.

Applications and supporting materials (ie, letters of recommendation, transcripts, and other required documentation) must be postmarked no later than June 29, 2007.

Criteria are evaluated by a panel of judges from the NTDA and other industry trade associations using a weighted scoring system, with financial need receiving 50% of the total consideration. Academic and community activities are given equal weighting and consideration.

Applications for the 2007 Scholarship Program are available at www.ntda.org or by calling NTDA Communications Director Gwen Brown at 800-800-4552, ext 102.
