Moraine OH-based InnoVan celebrated the grand opening of its new plant and introduction of its first customized step van with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and plant tour recently. More than 300 people attended the event. The ceremony included speeches by Gov Bob Taft's regional representative, Anthony Whitmore; Montgomery County President Don Lucas; Montgomery County Treasurer Hugh Quill; Moraine City Manager Dennis Sparks; Frank Winslow, president and chief executive officer of NCIC Capital Fund and chairman of InnoVan's board of directors; and Bob Otto, InnoVan CEO.

The 85,000-square-foot plant includes equipment for manufacturing, assembly, custom design, paint, and customization facilities. The plant also houses engineering and corporate offices. InnoVan's goal is to produce 800 step vans in 2001, says Otto. He hopes production will increase to 1,200 step vans in 2002 and 1,500 by 2003.
