Diesel falls 7.2 cents to $1.997

For the first time in twelve weeks, the national average prices for a gallon of diesel fell below $2 per gallon, after prices plummeted 7.2 cents last week to average $1.997. However, on a year-over-year comparison, the national average rings in at a whopping $0.511.

California once again saw the largest price drop— and the highest diesel prices, at 8.7 cents and $2.138, respectively. The New England region posted the smallest decline, down 2.8 cents to $2.206. The cheapest prices can be found in the Gulf Coast, as it averaged $1.910 after a hefty 8.5-cent drop.
