Diesel drops from one-year high

The national average price of diesel fell by .2 cents this week from its one-year high of $1.763, according to figures released by the Department of Energy.

The biggest drop came in California — 7.4 cents to $2.266, which still is the highest-priced diesel nationally by far.

Most of the other regions showed gains of less than one cent. The lowest remained the Lower Atlantic at $1.658.
