Clean Air Partners (CAP), developer of systems to reduce engine emissions, has purchased an Horiba transient emissions testing station for its San Diego CA research and development facility. The $500,000 test stand will let CAP measure the lowest levels of engine emissions possible.

With the transient measuring capability of the Horiba MEXA7100D, CAP will be able to quantify amounts of nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oxygen, total hydrocarbons, and non-methane hydrocarbons produced by prototype engines as they are evaluated. This will include how the emissions change under varying loads and operating speeds.
