Activity among Industrial Supply Association manufacturer and distributor members decreased for the second month in a row but remains in positive territory, according to the latest ISA Economic Indicators Report (EIR).

The report showed manufacturer activity in April at 58.92%, compared to 61.82% the previous month, and the distributor index at 57.8%, compared to 62.6% in March. For each index, a reading above 50% indicates expansion, while a reading below 50% indicates contraction.

“This marks the second consecutive month where both the Manufacturer and Distributor Indexes decreased from the previous month, which suggests that activity among our members is slowing somewhat from earlier in the year,” said John Buckley, ISA executive vice president. “However, all of the indexes remain in positive territory, indicating that business remains strong, which is good news for the industry.”
